A Little Bit About Me...

As an Ivy league graduate, I was driven to acheive a high level of excellence in education. I have earned a bachelor degree in education and masters degree in education with a major in mathematics. I have also worked in the business field and am able to teach students today how to apply mathematics in the real world. Recently I have been teaching as a substitute teacher in 3 counties and I have been doing alot of tutoring as well.

My approach to "teaching" is very personal; education is not a "one size fits all" project but comes from many sources--books, talking, hands on experience and much more. Algebraic concepts and formulas can often be, I have found, analogous to much simpler ideas or images. Once the abstract is related to the mundane, we can break down the barrier to understanding that can be an automatic or habitual construction for many people. I am also an advocate of learning by example; I will walk through a problem or two, step by step, until the process becomes obvious.
