I have taught Medical Neuroanatomy to medical students at the University of Iowa Medical School. Students were directed in dissecting and identifying parts of the human brain. This occurred in small groups of five or six students. I also taught Molecular Neurobiology at Friday Harbor Laboratories to graduate students who came from around the world to take the course. This involved all parts of a laboratory class including lectures, small group discussions, and one-on-one teaching. I have also tutored numerous undergraduates in a variety of math and science areas. My qualifications to teach English as a second language stem from the fact that I have faced this beast from both sides of the fence: first, as a learner of a second language, then as an instructor.
