Every student can learn, and my purpose and goal is to help each student stretch as far as he or she is willing to go. I have completed all requirements for a Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I have taught mathematics, computer applications, life skills, and other subjects at high school and community college levels in Colorado. With this understanding, I believe that essentially any student can learn any subject if the curriculum is engineered to meet that student's learning needs. The thing I love most about teaching is opening up someones eyes to something new and seeing the "wow" look on their faces. Sometimes certain subject matter is not always easy for a person to learn. I've always appreciated the teacher that went out of their way with a great amount of patience to make sure I understood. I strongly believe that the best quality a teacher can have is adaptability. As an instructor I have a responsibility to conform to my students learning styles. I have never met a student of any age who was unintelligent or incapable of reaching their academic goals. If a student is having difficulty in a subject it is the responsibility of the instructor to seek out new approaches of communication and student engagement. With adequate amounts of instructoral persistence, dedication, and adaptability any student, regardless of previous difficulties has an excellent chance for success.
