ASVAB Tutoring

The ASVAB is often offered to American high school students when they are in the 10th, 11th and 12th grade, though anyone eligible for enlistment may take it. Looking for help? Select a tutor today. AFQT(combined ASVAB scores) required minimum scores for people with a high school diploma as of May 2011 are as follows: Air Force (AFQT) 50 (GED is 65), Air National Guard (AFQT) 31 (GED Graduate is 50), Coast Guard (AFQT) 40 (GED is 50), Navy (AFQT) 50 (or 65 with GED), Marines (AFQT) 32 (or 50 with GED), Army (AFQT) 31. GED holders who earn 15 college credits 100 level or greater are considered equivalent with those holding high school diplomas. This would result in only needing the minimum score to enlist. Need help? Select a tutor now. Select an ASVAB tutor today on your terms, on your schedule, to suit your needs and within budget.

My comments on tutoring ASVAB: I almost joined the military after college. I was in the Navy ROTC program for four years, and then decided at the last minute that I wanted to be an engineer in the private sector. However, before I realized that the ASVAB was not required to go into the ROTC program, I took it. I received a 98/100 score, which would have qualified me for any job I would have possibly wanted in the military. As far as the subject matter goes, the ASVAB is hardly any more difficult than the ACT or SAT. In fact, I would argue that it's a great deal easier. However, for those not knowing what to expect it can be intimidating, which is why most people make their mistakes on it. My goal is to help minimize the amount of mistakes that you (or your student) are prone to make on the ASVAB by instilling a familiarity for the subject matter, and helping the student get the best score possible!

Greetings one and all! My name is Tristan, and I am a recent graduate of the University of Florida's College of Engineering as of August 2012. I graduated with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Nuclear Engineering and a cumulative GPA of 3.25 (and I will tell you that I earned every point of it). I am looking forward to using my knowledge and proficiency in various fields of math and science to make your four year slog through the rigors of academia as palpable as possible. I offer flexible hours, friendly demeanor, and a patient approach to tutoring that caters to your individual skill set. All of this comes at a reasonable price, which can of course be negotiated to suit your budget (remember, I was once a broke college student too). In short: I work with you, for you, and on your terms! I offer tutelage in many technical disciplines: Math, Science, and Engineering are my b ... read more

Math portion I have a been tutoring math on at least a part-time basis for over 20 years. I have a degree in Psychology and another in Geomatics (Surveying and Mapping - heavy on mathematics) from the University of Florida. I have received a perfect score on the math portion of the GRE (Graduate Record Examination). Let me put that experience to work for you! I am very patient, but I expect you to work to his or her full ability and to be honest about your weak points. If you can do most of the work on your own and come to me with what you truly have problems with, out time together will be much more productive.

The students I worked with all saw great gains in areas that they had previously struggled in. I prefer to use a more individualized teaching style and it is important that each and everyone of my student's program is specifically created and tailored to meet his or her educational needs. As an engineer and I have taught planners and engineers how to use software to do calculations. I have taught GRE preparation for Kaplan (analytical and verbal reasoning) both to small classes of 3 to 7 students and individual tutoring. In 2009, I was accepted into the Educators of Change program by the Duval County School Board. I am now a certified teacher in Mathematics and Physics (grades 9-12). I have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a master’s in Public Administration. In addition, I have learned extensive grammatical skills through writing articles for publication and many professional reports. I enjoy teaching and working with children. While I believe that all children can learn, they do so in their own ways and at their own pace. It is the tutor’s responsibility to ensure that the student(s) understand the material. It is important to show students how one idea bui

A teaching style developed over many years as a registered nurse and military NCO and officer affords me the opportunity to boast that I truly believe in the diverse talents of every person. Each student possesses a unique range of talents; however, each has his or her weaknesses as well. Tapping into one's talents and using that talent to learn new concepts associated with those weaknesses is the key to successful learning and sustained retention of information. Learning is fun; it is not fun when the student feels inadequate, insecure or scrutinized. Recognizing a student's talents is the first element in teaching, since failure to do so provides no solid foundation upon which to build. As both a registered nurse and a retired Navy officer, I am an avid practitioner of lifelong learning and a zealous teacher who has vast experience in teaching students in military and private setti

I love teaching are next generation. I have a way to break down hard subjects in a easy way. I am available to help any child to learn what ever subject the need. I am patient, easy going, and a never give up additude. My goal is to help the child develope his or her own style to learn subject, and help them bring their grades up. I am a firm believer that if you are patient listen to the child struggle area then talk to the child in developing a more possitive additude and give this will give them more self worth. A new change of thinking and having more belief in your self can show th child there is nothing they can not achieve. I strive to make a difference in all the people I help. I have not been paid for a tutoring job, but I have tutored people in Math, reading and other subjects. I have earned my A.A degree. I am working on my B.S degree in psycholgy, and plane to get my masters

I do believe that all children have the ability to learn the subjects however not all children are in the right mind to do so. My goal is to show in real world, understandable terms the subjects we will work on. I believe that if a child is explained the rules in terms and words he/she understands, then he/she will grasp the material and carry it with them into the future rather than trying to cram for an exam with no retention. I graduated from UNF in 1993 with a Bachelor's of Business Administration in the field of Management. The degree required classes in Accounting, Finance, Algebra and Economics. Mathematics has risen to be one of my preferred subjects, tutoring this subject for a year to date.

Every subject has its own teaching style, yet there are some consistencies throughout. I teach based on how the student learns. This may require adapting typical styles to meet the individual student's needs.  You or your child will benefit from my focus on repetition and consistency, yet at the same time my desire for a variety of learning techniques. I encourage every student to do his or her own best work before bringing it to me, then allow me to help enhance his or her work to help the student excel.  It is my firm belief that every student has the potential to excel with the right environment, style, and motivation. It is my goal to figure out what this is for you or your child and provide you the opportunity to do so. In every subject I am qualified to tutor I have taken high school, college, graduate, and/or professional courses and earned at least a "B+" (91%), with except

My teaching style is a type of facilitator approach. I realize the with every classroom there is middle level of learners the same as lower and higher achievers. My goal becomes aimed at the middle with reserves and encouragement for the lower as well as higher students.I often try ro challenge the classroom wholly and getting to know my students individually. This is key. My goal should be shared by my student instead of mowed over by it. Together we learn not individually. I began teaching in 1998. My previous job was taken away by forces of nature. I had taken advantage of the Military Troops to Teachers Program with no clear pathway to practice. Until I found myself with a possibility of unemployment. I I applied at a correctional facility and I was hired over the next week. Hence my introduction to the classroom and the world of academia. Over the next five years I was fortunate

My teaching style varies with audience. I believe that most students need to first understand what a question is asking, (we all assume what is being asked yet never give it a great deal of thought) then proceed to elaborate on the wrong answer. Study technique is to me a critical element in learning. This usually means SQ3R. I am not a talking head but rather an instigator of thought. I have retired from successful teaching but am still open to tutoring High School and Adult students. I believe I have learned more from my students over the years than from any source. I have over 22 years of teaching experience at the Secondary and Adult level. I have written and implemented several innovative courses, and redesigned curriculum to include interdisciplinary education. I have addressed several NEA conventions on teaching across curriclum boundaries. My favorite composition of curriculum wa
