My comments on tutoring ASVAB : Math portion

I have a been tutoring math on at least a part-time basis for over 20 years. I have a degree in Psychology and another in Geomatics (Surveying and Mapping - heavy on mathematics) from the University of Florida. I have received a perfect score on the math portion of the GRE (Graduate Record Examination). Let me put that experience to work for you!

I do believe that all children have the ability to learn the subjects however not all children are in the right mind to do so. My goal is to show in real world, understandable terms the subjects we will work on. I believe that if a child is explained the rules in terms and words he/she understands, then he/she will grasp the material and carry it with them into the future rather than trying to cram for an exam with no retention.

My teaching style is a type of facilitator approach. I realize the with every classroom there is middle level of learners the same as lower and higher achievers. My first instructional experience was when I was 8; I taught my cousin how to read. From there, I went on to tutor as an undergrad and to teach while in graduate school.
