Online Music Lessons and Elementary Test Prep/Homework Help

I am currently a general music teacher at Samsula Academy, an elementary school in New Smyrna Beach, FL. I teach general music classes to students in grades K-5, as well as chorus and band. I received my Bachelor's degree from Marywood University in Scranton, PA and began my Master's studies at University of Central Florida. I currently aspire to study Irish traditional music in Ireland in the near future, and would continue to offer online tutoring services during those studies. To me teaching is about solving puzzles. Each student needs different devices or strategies to learn at their full potential. This is why I believe in experimenting with how class or a learning session is conducted. A Little Bit About Me...

I like to have the students actively participating in the lessons. They enjoy working out the lesson examples and problems on the media that is used so all of the class can see the successes and where we need more work and explanation. Hands on work is very valuable such as working with graphing calculators. The students enjoy manipulatives and technology where they can make their own discoveries. Math and the graphing calculator have become one in the same, so I use them constantly in the classroom.
I have been teaching for seven years-mostly math and some language arts. The math teaching included geometry, algebra 1, algebra 2, basic high school math and middle school math.
