My teaching style is all about application and functionality. How do I apply it to real life situations, so that the student can better remember it. That is my first train of thought when presenting material. With math, the key to math is take it one step at a time. I want to know what the student is thinking and key in on their mistakes and let them guide themselves out of their mistakes, so that they learn the correct steps to solving the problem. I prefer to work with children who have learning disabilities and/or with a dislike for education. I find that my teaching style is interesting to this particular type of student. I acknowledge the childs dismay in learning and I allow them to help me to adjust the teaching material to a teaching style that best suits the childs learning style. Science and english are subjects that many children don't enjoy. I make it much easier for them to learn the subject and then we expound thier knowledge from there.
I graduated from UCF with a Bachelors in Communicative Disorders (speech therapy). I love english and science and found this to be a perfect mix. I am currently the Math Coach at a local Middle School. I have been in the educational field for thirteen years as a math teacher.
