A Little Bit About Me...

From teaching and tutoring various children I have learned each child has a different understanding of the same subject. I have adapted to help each child I have worked with the achieve their individual understanding and success. Recently, I have helped tutor students in photography classes and I found many teachers push their own style onto the students. I have taken a determined stand against this type of teaching. I have not taught professionally, but I do have to help roommates and classmates with their work on a regular basis. I like to give them little tricks and tips for figuring out different kinds of problems. I don't like to just tell them how to do the problem. Every child has a different learning style and it's the duty of the teacher to discover that way and pursue the methods that will help that child. Encouragement is the best teacher and confidence is the foundation of success. I know what helped me succeed as a young student and I believe I can provide that for students on a one on one basis. I know how to believe in kids and how to develop that belief in themselves.
As a graduate and undergraduate student I taught multiple courses in both landscape design and architectural construction.
