I have recently graduated from UNLV with a BA in fine art with minors in art history and criminal justice. I have taken classes in education and am pursuing a master's degree in art history so I can teach on the college level. I have taught and tutored many individuals in art, English, and math. I am currently between my junior and senior year at Coastal Carolina University where I have a 3.998 GPA. I have received many honors and awards for my academic achievement such as induction to the Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society. I have always received excellent grades in math and science, but also in the humanities. My mother is a middle school teacher who has taught at all levels of education. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a believer in the socratic method. As an Avid tutor we were taught to employ this method to help students understand concepts. I think that it is better to ask questions, and guide students' thinking rather than just giving them the answer, or telling them how to do a problem. Simply telling someone how to do something or giving them the answer prevents that person from figuring it out for his or herself. If the student can figure it out for themselves they will achieve a much better level of understanding.

I taught in a bi-lingual charter school and worked with students from many diverse ethnic backgrounds I also substituted in my off-track time for ESL instructors and Special-Ed students with learning disabilities. Each year I taught I attended special seminars on reading development and literature.
