Learning can be fun!

I am currently teaching English as a second language to post-secondary international students at California State University Sacramento. I teach all areas of English, including grammar, composition, reading, and listening and speaking skills. I have taught beginning English to refugees in Sacramento, as well as English as a foreign language in Guatemala and Honduras. I have also tutored at the UNR Writing Center (when it still existed) during the Fall semester of '08. Since October 2008 I have tutored at the Reno Huntington Learning Center where I teach phonics all the way up to SAT and ACT Verbal test prep. While at UNR I took an upper division English Class entitled "How to Tutor an English Writer." I also have a minor of Spanish from UNR. A Little Bit About Me...

Having received an MA in French and Italian language and literature and recently submitting a PhD which focussed on Basque and Catalan nationalism, I was able to hone my language skills, and put them to use during many hours of fieldwork I conducted in France and Spain. The completion of graduate degrees has also allowed me to develop my writing, analytical and communication skills.
