I like to break every concept and principle down into its most basic components. An artist breaks down a drawing into its basic shapes, and is able to create what may at first seem like a complex object to draw. Explaining mathematical principles is almost as difficult as learning them, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Teaching in groups and teaching individually both have their advantages and disadvantages. Teaching one-on-one allows the student to have individual attention, while teaching in groups allows more flexibility and allows students to learn concepts from each other. I consider myself able to do both, but one-on-one often works best.

I prefer a "hands on" approach in a one-on-one environment. I have had success with classrooms of up to 120 students, but I prefer the individual monitoring. It yields the best results. I have tutored remedial reading at the Elementary level for a tutoring service out of Phoenix, AZ for the Washoe County School System in Reno. While in my undergraduate study, I tutored fellow students who were struggling with beginning music theory. Another classmate and I taught classes in 4 levels of theory for up to 120 students while at U of P-West Chester.
