My comments on tutoring Math : I can help with any high school or undergraduate college Math course.

I have done private tutoring of high school students in math from pre-algebra to calculus and in other subjects. I can be strict but I do show empathy and try to put myself in other's situation. I don't judge I believe every child learns in thier own way but with time and patience it can be done. Math can be fun and interesting if you have the right tools!

I have served as a guidance counselor in middle schools for almost forty years and retired in December, 2013. During the last twelve years, I have tutored students in math in groups and individually. My major complaint with the current pedagogy of STEM fields is there focus on teaching students to be able to produce answers so a slew of canned and frankly uninteresting problem sets. There is so much interesting literature, philosophy, and history in the fields of science and physics that it makes very little sense to muddle with these less helpful and dull techniques and problems. Physics and math education has become so perforated with cliche that shows like Cosmos and the elegant universe can become hits by just regurgitating the same buzz-theories (Schrodinger's cat, Black holes, the multiverse etc.) in the same, cloddish language (space-time is 'warped' and twisted, quantum 'weirdness', etc). Eight years of tutoring math subjects for middle school and high school students. I have taught for 20+ years in Germany (mainly Math, English and Reading) and for 4 years in Kansas City, MO. There I taught all core subjects: Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies.
