I recently graduated with my Bachelors from the University of Tennessee. My degree is in English, but I have tons of experience tutoring in just about everything. The ages I have tutored most is older elementary, middle, and high schools as well as college. I can especially help prepare students for college and help them succeed in college. I love helping people, particularly children, reach their full potential by becoming life-long learners. Whenever I meet with a student, whether it be one-on-oe or in the classroom, I strive to identify his/her learning style and to create a connection to the lesson to his/her future experiences in the world beyond the classroom. A Little Bit About Me...

After graduating with an English major and a minor in secondary education from Union University, I moved to Nashville to begin my graduate degree. I finished with my MA in English from Belmont University while teaching full-time. I have spent the last 15 years teaching all levels of English in grades 8-12. I currently teach 11th and 12th grade English, and I am also a Dual Enrollment adjunct professor for a local community college. I teach Written Composition 1010 and 1020, along with American Literature 2110 and American Literature 2120. During my fifteen years, I have also taught Honors and Advanced Placement English.

A Little Bit About Me...

The majority of my secondary education has been dominated by the manipulation of words and formulation of arguments. My studies during college, culminating in the achievement of a BA in English, have allowed me to hone my mastery of the English language. Additionally, my four semesters as a writing center consultant at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, gave me a degree of teaching experience and familiarity with many of the common problems students (particularly those new to writing a thesis-driven paper) encounter when doing work for writing-intensive courses.
