I love helping people, particularly children, reach their full potential by becoming life-long learners. Whenever I meet with a student, whether it be one-on-oe or in the classroom, I strive to identify his/her learning style and to create a connection to the lesson to his/her future experiences in the world beyond the classroom. I believe that education is the key to creating citizens with a sense of self-efficacy and a belief that one man or woman can make a differnce.
While earning my MA in English, I spent two years tutoring students in English and training/mentoring other tutors. For the last two years, I have been designing and delivering trianing curriculum. After graduating with an English major and a minor in secondary education from Union University, I moved to Nashville to begin my graduate degree. I finished with my MA in English from Belmont University while teaching full-time. I have spent the last 15 years teaching all levels of English in grades 8-12. I currently teach 11th and 12th grade English, and I am also a Dual Enrollment adjunct professor for a local community college.
