I am certified by the Arizona Department of Education in Elementary Education, K-8. My teaching experience includes 10 years of public school teaching. My method is to reach students exactly where there at and use methods that would stimulate all types of learners . Once I was teaching a group of sixth graders who would be entering Algebra soon. I gave them a true life math example. Our equasion; a party with the number of students, quantity of different items and costs. When we devided the items their costs with the number of students we came up with how much each student had to pitch in. In this example I had some items that were to be used and they were able to touch them. I also told them very clearly what was going on while I was writing it all down. This stimulated many different learning types

A Little Bit About Me...

I like to present material, but expect interaction with students to reach a mutual understanding of the material. Students are expected to develop to a level of independence that will allow them to work without assistance.
While a student I acted as a teacher's assistant teaching Argumentation and Debate for one semester, and tutored Basic Statistics for one semester. As an accounting professional I trained new employees in Accounting, both in classroom and individual environments. While this experience was on an "as needed" basis, since I have worked as a Controller for over twenty-five years I believe I have at least three years of accumulated experience teaching accounting.

I don't know that I favor any particular style of teaching, I just try to relate to the student. I find out what he/she likes doing, and I try to find examples and analogies using these things. I also try to find more than one way of explaining things. This seems to ensure that the student is acturally learning processes and not just answering the question.
