A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate student studying biology at the New Mexico Highlands University (NMHU), I was a teaching assistant (TA) assisting in preparing and conducting laboratory experiments in biology with undergraduate students at NMHU. I prepare laboratory research outlines before sessions and grade laboratory reports. I also have a one-to-one teaching experience, teaching students math, chemistry and biology, thus, enabling me with a pre-existing experience to assit students to achieve a better education.I am good in french and can teach.

My method is to reach students exactly where there at and use methods that would stimulate all types of learners . Once I was teaching a group of sixth graders who would be entering Algebra soon. I gave them a true life math example. Our equasion; a party with the number of students, quantity of different items and costs. When we devided the items their costs with the number of students we came up with how much each student had to pitch in. In this example I had some items that were to be used and they were able to touch them. I also told them very clearly what was going on while I was writing it all down. This stimulated many different learning types

A Little Bit About Me...

I have obtained my masters degree in education and now have three years experience teaching math. In particular, I have instructed 7th and 8th grade middle school students as well as 9th – 12th grade high school students. Specific classes include various mathematic disciplines up through Geometry and Trigonometry. With respects to Spanish, I am Hispanic and grew up in a Spanish speaking household. I took 3 formal years of Spanish in high school and an additional year in college. In the majority of the jobs I had, I was used as translator for Spanish speaking clients. While working for Farmers Insurance, I was tested and compensated an additional salary for speaking the language. I have a total of 36 semester hours of mathematics.
