I am certified by the Arizona Department of Education in Elementary Education, K-8. My teaching experience includes 10 years of public school teaching. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th all subjects and middle school Language Arts. Five out of my ten years experience, was spent teaching 3rd grade which is my personal favorite. I began there as a Building Maintainance Mechanic and worked my way up to a vocational education teacher. After that I worked at St. Johns School for boys in Cabazon California. While I lived in California I also worked at a Christian High School called Joshua Springs High School where I began teaching a free small wood Shop class and worked my way up to a regular teacher. I like to present material, but expect interaction with students to reach a mutual understanding of the material. Students are expected to develop to a level of independence that will allow them to work without assistance.
While a student I acted as a teacher's assistant teaching Argumentation and Debate for one semester, and tutored Basic Statistics for one semester. As an accounting professional I trained new employees in Accounting, both in classroom and individual environments. While this experience was on an "as needed" basis, since I have worked as a Controller for over twenty-five years I believe I have at least three years of accumulated experience teaching accounting.

I have obtained my masters degree in education and now have three years experience teaching math. In particular, I have instructed 7th and 8th grade middle school students as well as 9th – 12th grade high school students. Specific classes include various mathematic disciplines up through Geometry and Trigonometry. With respects to Spanish, I am Hispanic and grew up in a Spanish speaking household. I took 3 formal years of Spanish in high school and an additional year in college. In the majority of the jobs I had, I was used as translator for Spanish speaking clients.
