A Little Bit About Me...

During my travels through school i have had my fair share of peer study groups to help with the learning of the material to pass classes. I have also helped allot of my peers with understanding as well. I have tutored through Lassen Community College helping students who were struggling with the concepts of math at lower and higher level classes. One of my professors called me an asset to any tutoring group or peer study group in a recommendation letter to Merced College for tutoring. After having both tutored and taught in the classroom, I find tutoring to be more enjoyable. Since each student learns in a different way it is much easier to teach them one-on-one than a whole classroom full. I’ve always enjoyed watching their faces light up when they figure out a problem for the first time. I believe that tutoring is a very powerful tool because a lot of students need that extra push to succeed that they can’t get being in a classroom.

I have always been interested in teaching other people who are struggling to keep up with their school work. I acknowledge their difficulty with the subject because it takes time and effort to master the curriculum. As a student, I believe it would be a good experience to teach what I learned and passed on to other people. Therefore, my goal is to provide the best education possible before I graduate and pursue my career in engineering.
Currently as a student in merced college, I am pursuing my degree in chemical engineering, which has enable me to take courses heavily in math and science courses.
