Writing & Public Speaking are my niche. I have been working at Hermitage High School in Henrico County as an English teacher for the past 4 years. I have taught 9th grade, but I have spent most of my time teaching 11th grade. I have taught a variety of "levels," from standard to college prep to honors. Every year I teach about 130 students. Last year, only 5 of my students didn't p ass the 11th grade SOL, and after re-takes the following week, only 1 didn't pass. I was trained to be a SAT tutor using the TCA program in the county. This is my major in college and what the majority of my college classes are focused on. I like to see examples of what the person is having difficulty with in order to pinpoint problems and then work on them from there. I am currently an English major, specifying in creative writing, at Virginia Tech. In high school, I took both of the offered AP English courses and passed with a 4 on both. In college, almost every class I have taken has been English-oriented, with regards to either literature or writing.
