ASVAB Tutoring

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple choice test, administered by the United States Military Entrance Processing Command. Looking for help? Select a tutor today. ASVAB scoring is based on an Item Response Theory (IRT) model. IRT is a theory that enables test questions and examinee abilities to be placed on the same scale, thereby allowing tests to be tailored to the specific ability level of each examinee and scores to be expressed on the same scale regardless of the combination of items that are taken. Need help? Select a tutor now. Select an ASVAB tutor today on your terms, on your schedule, to suit your needs and within budget.

I almost joined the military after college. I was in the Navy ROTC program for four years, and then decided at the last minute that I wanted to be an engineer in the private sector. However, before I realized that the ASVAB was not required to go into the ROTC program, I took it. I received a 98/100 score, which would have qualified me for any job I would have possibly wanted in the military. As far as the subject matter goes, the ASVAB is hardly any more difficult than the ACT or SAT. In fact, I would argue that it's a great deal easier. However, for those not knowing what to expect it can be intimidating, which is why most people make their mistakes on it. My goal is to help minimize the amount of mistakes that you (or your student) are prone to make on the ASVAB by instilling a familiarity for the subject matter, and helping the student get the best score possible! Greetings one

I possess 10+ years of experience in the field of school psychology. My current dual Florida certification includes the instructor of Foreign Languages (K-12 Spanish) credential. I pursued direct hands-on experience as an instructor of non-traditional (GED for under 18, adult, and bilingual) students and as a college level adjunct professor. In the latter position I was trained as a distance-learning instructor. This experience expanded my “bag of tricks” in the development of ideas using technological applications to assist struggling students and the teachers that serve them. Education is one of the best tools anyone could have to build a fulfilling life. It is my experience that students that require that extra boost through tutoring succeed when a role model that demonstrate the skills demanded for their grade level is demonstrated step by step. I emphasize on showing students

My teaching style is focused on the assumption that my students are capable of reaching their greatest potential. I provide a comfortable learning environment, and expect my student to be at ease when working with me. It is incumbent upon me to discover the learning styles to which each of my students are most receptive. I expect greatness and use positive reinforcement when students deliver. I am always evaluating my work, looking for areas I can improve. For three years, I worked as academic aide and tutor for University of Montana Disabled Student Services. Upon graduation and then moving to Florida, I taught environmental science to students and adults of all ages and abilities as forester for Levy county. Currently, I am enrolled in a second Bachelor's degree in psychology.

I enjoy making learning fun for my students because it keeps them entertain and ready to learn. I like to find out what my students like and construct my teaching around that because it becomes easier to understand for them. I feel that incentives are a plus, students like to be rewarded for their great works. As a student it was great to be rewarded so I was always motivated to excel, therefore I want my students to feel motivated to always succeed. I'm here to not only teach your children, but motivate, inspire and mentor as well. Learning has always been fun to me. I love helping and teaching others, especially kids. My Godmother has been the Director for tutoring services for FCAT for many years so I’ve shadowed her majority of my life. While in high school I tutored her elementary students after school in basic algebra and science. We also tutored middle school students on

Although my undergrad degree is not the most prevailing, I have strong abilities in math. I have tutored many individuals throughout my life. My experience is approximately a year and a half. I have tutored elementary and middle school level math and science as a private tutor with great appreciation and prevalence of achieving goals for my students. My BA degree required math skills in statistics I and II. I also did exceptional on my SAT, GRE, and IB Math scores. My undergrad course work has given me an upper hand in constructing concepts when forming research papers as well as producing correct grammar and structure throughout my writing. Teaching is important to every individual no matter what age. The learning experience is never-ending. Children are very important to me as they are the future. Also if it weren't for my wonderful teachers I would have hated the academic process. It

It is my belief that everyone is able to learn, and what produces that ability is having support. So many instructors give up on those not favored as "prized" students, and in turn, these students just slide through. I know it takes time and effort to get some students enthused about education, and I make it my goal to help them with this. I have been working as a private tutor from my home or student's home for 3 years. I have tutored elementary through college level students. I am able to teach a variety of subjects, however my forte is English and Composition. I have the honor of being a published author. I am an expert in MLA or APA style writing. I have also tutored in College Algebra, elementary math, Biology, and Reading. I speak conversational French, and am able to teach up to the secondary level.

In every subject I am qualified to tutor I have taken high school, college, graduate, and/or professional courses and earned at least a "B+" (91%), with exceptions only for attendance points being removed due to chronic health issues.  In addition, I have tutoring experience at both the high school and college level.  Every student has given me the highest evalution possible to my superiors. Finally, I have professional experience in both personal use and the teaching of written communication, oral communication, photography, and internet and networking setup. It is my practice and continued goal to use all of these experiences to best suit you or your student's learning needs. Every subject has its own teaching style, yet there are some consistencies throughout. I teach based on how the student learns. This may require adapting typical styles to meet the individual student's ne

I have been teaching for over 20 years, both in the traditional classroom and online. My Bachelor’s Degree is in Physics and Math, and my Master’s Degree is in Physics Education. I have taught Physical Science, Physics, Conceptual Physics, Physics Honors and AP Physics as well as Earth Space Science, Algebra, Consumer Math, and Geometry. Helping students learn and be successful has been a natural part of my teaching experience and one of the most rewarding. I have also coached students in special projects including Physics Olympiads where our team won first place. My teaching style has always been to treat each child the way I would want my own children to be treated. I teach with respect, honesty, humor and patience. I have the experience and ability to quickly assess where a student is in their learning and where they need to be. I like to “show” and “do” whenever possible so s

As both a registered nurse and a retired Navy officer, I am an avid practitioner of lifelong learning and a zealous teacher who has vast experience in teaching students in military and private settings. I have gained invaluable insight in teaching both adults and adolescents during my many years as a mental health and medical-surgical nurse. Additionally, my previous instructional experiences in the military superbly complement my abilities in the absolute necessities of education: reading, writing and mathematics. Yes, "the three R's" are truly the basis for a successful education, and I look forward to sharing their importance with future students. A teaching style developed over many years as a registered nurse and military NCO and officer affords me the opportunity to boast that I truly believe in the diverse talents of every person.
