A Little Bit About Me...

Each child has a different learning ability. The best way I feel for success of a child would be a one to one or small group teaching style. This will provide the teacher to student kind of relationship where the teacher may know the level of each student. I try to repeat fundamentals so that students may have a solid foundation to build upon. I believe without a solid foundation a student might struggle harder in advance courses of study.
As of May 22, 2009 I became a graduate of California State University, Northridge with a BA degree in Chemistry. As an undergraduate student I performed atmospheric research with Dr. Daniel Curtis along with my duties as a full-time student. A Little Bit About Me...

As ambitious a student in the classroom as in life I have completed over 180 college credits at age 24. With a preference in sciences most of these credits were completed however my interest expands far beyond the realm into most every subject. Proof of this is shown by the length of my undergraduate work, six years with enlightening pauses in between to broaden my mind through travel. Biology is my strong suit however math such as physics, calculus and even chemistry are heavily influenced in the major. At San Diego state I have completed the majority of these subject units. I tutoring when in high school. I continued to tutor while I was getting my undergrad. I tutored college students from my college and those surrounding me. I have taught at an adult school for a summer while I was getting me credential. It was very rewarding helping people receive their GED and better their lives.I also interned at a Junior High, teaching math. Once I received my credential, I worked at an independent study program for at risk students and again felt great about making a difference in these student's lives. I also got my masters in Psychology and my multiple subject credential at this time. I strongly believe that all mathematical and statistical concepts can be explained and illustrated by the appropriate example. If a student understands how a certain statistical problem looks like in a small example, he or she will be able to describe the problem and the solution in an abstract formulation as well. I put a lot of effort in finding easy examples and then proceed in as little steps as necessary to the more abstract formulation. Also, I make sure to take the student with me on every of these steps. If tutor and student find the right pace, math and statistics can become a fascinating journey.
