I present mathematical techniques and concepts in every day language that is easy for anyone to quickly understand. Students who find mathematics dull or disconnected from their world will have an 'aha' moment after hearing it all described using logic, vocabulary and analogies familiar to them.
After earning a BS in Statistics from UCSB, I worked as a substitute teacher for a year at a private school in Santa Barbara (Santa Barbara Christian School). Motivated by that positive experience, I obtained a teaching credential in Mathematics Secondary Education from UCSB, graduating as Student Teacher of the Year. A Little Bit About Me...

I tutoring when in high school. I continued to tutor while I was getting my undergrad. I tutored college students from my college and those surrounding me. I have taught at an adult school for a summer while I was getting me credential. It was very rewarding helping people receive their GED and better their lives.I also interned at a Junior High, teaching math. Once I received my credential, I worked at an independent study program for at risk students and again felt great about making a difference in these student's lives. I also got my masters in Psychology and my multiple subject credential at this time.
