I am hard of hearing and I have used American Sign Language my whole life. ASL is my second language, used when I attended school and when I hung out with friends. I went to a school that offered ASL as a class and I took three years of ASL, skipping the first year. I was in the American Sign Language honor society and I graduated with the Laurent Clerc medallion. I signed the National anthem at school football games, and at my own graduation with a couple of other students as well. While in the honor society, I was required to go to an event and sign there, I signed a couple of shows at the Florida Aquarium. I am a very hands on type of teacher/tutor, I will have a white board and marker with me at all meetings. I am avid about 'Voice-off' since it's the best way to learn ASL.
