Experience Summary
I have had 19 yrs. of teaching experience working with deaf/hard of hearing students. I have taught hearing students an elective sign language class as well. My experience includes working with all grade levels from 1st-high school and even disabled adults. Subject areas I am experienced in include: reading, language arts, science, math, social studies, and study skills. I am currently teaching middle school level students in the areas of math, science and social studies.
Teaching Style
I am a teacher who is very patient and has high expectations for my students. I am flexible in my approach with children because I know there are many different learning styles and strategies that help depending on the personality. I try to make learning relevant to the student's life by bringing in examples that they can relate to easily and in a fun way. I am very professional yet personable. I build relationships of trust with my students first, so they are open to learning from me.
