I have always helped people with their homework, particularly in when it comes to English and elementary math. I worked for wyzant.com for four months, where I tutored a little girl in Spanish and it was really fun, but ultimately she had too much on her plate so I stopped. A year later the father of the girl I tutored before asked me to come back, but by then I had a full-time job and school. Now I would like to go back to tutoring because its something I enjoy and I am also good at it.
I like to make learning fun by teaching according to what my students like. For instance, with the little girl I tutored, I knew that she was a visual learner and that she loved art and music so I gave her a mnemonic device in a form a song she liked to help her remember verb conjugations. American History is one of my top subjects! One of my degree's cognate areas was Political Science & History. In addition, I enjoy the subject & have studied it independently.

I like to figure out what a student really wants to know & why he/she has this desire. Then, I like to know how best they learn. We all take in information differently. For example, it's easy for me to retain info related to social studies, history, artwork & details about writing a good narrative. This IS NOT true for me when dealing with science subjects. So, when I endeavored to get the BEST grade that I could when taking a requisite science course in college, I had to spend 3Xs as much effort in my studies. (I got an 89%.) This reminded me that I can do my best & get good results. It also reminded wherein my intellectual strengths lie.
