I have always helped people with their homework, particularly in when it comes to English and elementary math. I worked for wyzant.com for four months, where I tutored a little girl in Spanish and it was really fun, but ultimately she had too much on her plate so I stopped. A year later the father of the girl I tutored before asked me to come back, but by then I had a full-time job and school. Now I would like to go back to tutoring because its something I enjoy and I am also good at it.
I like to make learning fun by teaching according to what my students like. For instance, with the little girl I tutored, I knew that she was a visual learner and that she loved art and music so I gave her a mnemonic device in a form a song she liked to help her remember verb conjugations. My tutoring experience isn't really too official. I mostly just help people with College Algebra around the dorms. I am pretty good with teaching and helping with math, and could probably do it at a High School level. Not actually having a BS probably will just limit me to high school tutoring. With the people skills I have developed working as an Resident Assistant I know I can be effective in helping high school students in math, biology, french, and chemistry.

I assess what their difficulty is. I may back track and ensure they understand the basic foundation of the principle they are learning, then move forward one step at a time, as they grasp each concept.
