My comments on tutoring Writing : In foreign countries, where I have worked as a teacher, many students have a different language, thus, a different writing system. My job is therefore twofold. First I must teach the students how to recognize written English and secondly, how to write in a totally new way. This is both difficult and rewarding for both the teacher and the student.

I extensively use music, video, flashcards and activities to make my clases fun and interesting. Discussion, and even newspaper articles can be supplemented as class materials. Classes are tailored to fit the needs and level of the student. I always keep my classes upbeat and moving forward. The proper amoount of review is mixed into the new material so everything remains fresh, not forgotten.
From 2002 through 2010 I served as an Adult leader for the BSA through which I taught subjects ranging from life skills (cooking, sewing, personal care, etc) to government (political structure, citizenship, etc.) to outdoor survival(fire making, edible plant recognition, swimming, etc.) Also, from 2004 through 2012, I served as a safety trainer and risk management trainer for two different employers. My comments on tutoring Writing : The Hand Writing Without Tears approach works well for those in special education as it has many techniques for chanllenged students.

My approach to teaching are always individualized to meet the needs of each student.
I have seventeen years of experience teaching all subjects to all grade levels to students who qualify for the Learning Disabled, Physically & Health Impiared, Attention Deficet Disorder and ADHD programs. As an intinerant teacher I moved from elementary schools to high schools tutoring students in all subject context areas, while providing hands on individualized learning to meet the needs of the students and their disabilities when necessary.
