A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with students of all ages and in all different subject areas. I have recently completed a semester of student teaching in a kindergarten class where I worked with the students on reading and writing skills. I have also worked with older students including an adult with learning disabilities. I have taken and passed seven AP tests: Biology, Calculus, Government, English, Physics, Economics, and Spanish. I believe you can only help the student learn if you are willing to take time to "bend down" to their understanding and help lift them up. As a person that easily empathizes with others, it is natural for me to take time to understand the person who I am tutoring. Through building trust with that person I can naturally help them to understand what they may be missing or not understanding. As a student at UofU and BYU I tutored and was tutored myself. While attending BYU I worked in the student advisement center part-time, mentoring and helping students develop their schedules, and tutored them in subject matter from courses I'd already completed. I served as a volunteer representative for the LDS church for two years in Denmark and Iceland. I speak fluent Danish and Norwegian, and I taught extensively on many topics to all age groups while over there. I've tutored other students, friends, and family in math and math-related fields(up to calculus III level math). I excelled at Math and English composition in school.
