Don't risk your grade/money on mere paper qualifications

You will see many ads by former or current professors trying to make a buck on the side. They are terrible tutors - they spent their whole careers having students beg them for a better grade. I have spent my whole life learning how to explain the most complex concepts to absolutely anybody. You will also see many people touting a related professional position as qualification. Many of them got their positions through nepotism and cheating to get paper qualifications (Some are my former clients) and neither have a good understanding of the material nor do they explain things well. I enjoy working with children and helping them meet academic goals. As a tutor my job would be to find out how a child learns best. Learning styles can include auditory, visual, and kinesthetic. Children also need engaging,interesting, and varied activities during their learning experiences. Another key point would be to identify strengths and weaknesses and to build a plan based on that information. I feel that all children can succeed.
I have been teaching middle school science for the past eight years at a local Middle School. My endorsement is in biology. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style initally involves getting to the know the person, what they are struggling with, why they think they may need a tutor, and anything they have tried in the past and what has and has not worked for them. I like to encorporate all aspects to assist with learning (visual aids, listening, and hands-on/practical). This may involve games, cartoons/movies (if tutoring Spanish), worksheeets. I also feel that goal-setting is important, and I think I would ask the tutee to set some individual/personal goals for themself, (i.e. amount of time studying or achieving certain fluency level).
