My approach to tutoring is to first find which specific area is causing each individual problems. Once we work on that area and master the concepts, I will then go back an work with each student to figure out a study strategy that will work for them long term. The goal is for them to be able to be successful on their own in their studies so they no longer need me! A Little Bit About Me...

While at Virginia Tech, I dedicated much of my time to volunteering. Here I fell in love with serving others. During this time, one of the programs I volunteered for was an after-school teaching program. Here, I tutored elementary-aged children in english, science, and math. I enjoy helping others learn!

I am a Masters Degree holder in Bioinformatics and our curriculum encompasses Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Cell Biology, Computer science, Immunology, Mathematics, Molecular Biology & Genetics, Proteomics, Statistics, Sequence Analysis and Structural Biology. I have worked for Norfolk City Public Schools and Virginia Beach City Public Schools as a substitute teacher for approximately six years. During that period I performed a multitude of jobs including long term substitute positions, teaching high school physics, and performed tasks far beyond the parameters of substitute job specifications. This current school year I was requested by the school improvement specialist, to work as the primary SOL tutor for Earth Science.
