I enjoy working with children and helping them meet academic goals. As a tutor my job would be to find out how a child learns best. Learning styles can include auditory, visual, and kinesthetic. Children also need engaging,interesting, and varied activities during their learning experiences. Another key point would be to identify strengths and weaknesses and to build a plan based on that information. I feel that all children can succeed.
I have been teaching middle school science for the past eight years at a local Middle School. My endorsement is in biology. For the past four years I have been enrolled in a master's degree program in reading at ODU. This May I will graduate from that program. My goal is to teach reading and work with struggling readers. A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching English has been a dream of mine for quite sometime. It's actually what I'm currently going to school for. Regarding past experience, I was the grant writer for Riverside Health System, to which I was able to successfully bring in over $600,000 in grant funding/rfps. At ODU as an undergraduate, I was one of 6 students selected to teach a for-credit academic course which I -like normal professors/teachers do- had to prepare course work, lesson plans, and instruct college students on Psychology 101. I plan to finish grad school by 2010.
