My approach to tutoring is to first find which specific area is causing each individual problems. Once we work on that area and master the concepts, I will then go back an work with each student to figure out a study strategy that will work for them long term. I do find that most people learn best by diving in and doing it themselves first, while I serve as a "safety net".
