Experience Summary
I am a Masters Degree holder in Bioinformatics and our curriculum encompasses Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Cell Biology, Computer science, Immunology, Mathematics, Molecular Biology & Genetics, Proteomics, Statistics, Sequence Analysis and Structural Biology. In addition to this, my Bachelors Degree Course work also includes many of the above mentioned topics. I taught these subjects to Masters’ students for two and a half years while working as a full time Bioinformatics faculty from January 2006 to June 2008. Besides I have given home tuition in Mathematics and Science to many high school and college students. This academic background along with exposure to premier scientific institutions enabled me to improve my knowledge and skills.
Teaching Style
A good teacher encourages students to think and analyze and not to accept the information passively. With this objective in mind, I combine class room teaching with interactive sessions.The learning styles and capabilities of the students vary. So I incorporate different methods of teaching.It is important that the students understand the concepts and principles thoroughly.I want the students to solve some of the problems while they are with me to make sure that they have grasped the principles.I prefer to create an environment that motivates the students. I have a special skill in dealing with students who have attention deficiency.I am patient and considerate and I will be happy to offer extra attention and coaching to slow learners.
