English Teacher with Excellent Experience!

The majority of my experience lies in classroom settings of 20-35 students. Although, I thoroughly enjoy one-on-one teaching as well. The first step in developing a teaching style for a specific student is to assess their needs and their learning styles. From that, tutoring can be tailored to each students specific needs.
I initially got my start as an English tutor for refugees in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area in 2002. I then moved to China where I worked as an English teacher in for eight years returning to the US in 2011. My experiences ranges from university freshmen English majors up through non-English major PhD students. I have taught English at a private school in Ansan, South Korea for 1 year from March 2009 to February 2010. I taught children from ages 5-14. This was a full time job. I take close consideration of each child’s ability in the language and cater to his or her individual needs. I believe in teaching in an immersion environment so that the child receives the maximum exposure to the target language.
