I earned my BA in German with a minor in music. My interest in the German language began as a child when my mother took a military assignment to Germany. In addition to the three years I lived there with my family, I completed a study abroad session during college and returned two years later as a Fulbright grantee to teach English in a German school. In total I spent six years in Germany and am quite fluent in the language. As for music, I have taught private violin lessons to elementary- and middle-school students. My career as a professional violinist has offered me many unique opportunities and experiences over the years. I find that teaching is one of the experiences I enjoy the most. I began my career in Paris, France, where I lived for five years, and have maintained my fluent French language skills. As a young musician, I began playing violin at the age of 9 and at the age of 14, I began learning piano. By age 15 I toured Austria and Germany with my high school orchestra and by age 16 I had composed my first symphony entitled Seven Emotions.
