As an ESL, grades 9-12 teacher, I am very familiar with identifying students' individual strengths and areas in need of support. Every one of my students learns differently. I must design curriculum that can be easily differentiated. This makes me an excellent tutor, because this is what it takes to tutor. As a college student, I tutored many other graduate students that were attaining their degrees in this country and needed to hone their English language skills before returning to their home nations. Because of my elementary background, it is safe to say I am a very patient person and I use that skill in my ability. I believe the best way to learn is peer-to-peer learning. As an auto-didact I have the study skills necessary to regurgitate information as taught by the current institutional models.
