Experience Summary
I have always had a strong appreciation for education and learning new things. My educational experience was strengthened when I attended Cornell College, which has a strong liberal arts program. I immediately took an interest in the sciences and pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biology/Pre-medicine. My education was additionally complimented when I immersed myself in several language, mathematic, English, and humanity courses, which gave me a strong diversity in the liberal arts curriculum. Due to the smaller class sizes at Cornell, most of the exams were given in essay form, which strengthened my writing skills immensely. During the course of the last 11 years after graduating, I have tutored students in English, mathematics, and the sciences.
Teaching Style
It is both amazing and fulfilling for me to utilize my education and communication skills to assist both children and adults in learning to better understand their subjects in school. I realize that every individual is different and has their own conception of what style of learning works for him or her. I am a very patient, observant, and kind-hearted. It is very easy for me to communicate to people from all walks of life and I can easily identify what teaching strategies work and do not work for each individual. I believe that everyone deserves a fair chance at receiving a good education. To be able to help someone overcome their struggles in a particular subject or subjects is an amazing feeling for me. Making a positive impact in one's educational experience is truly fulfilling for me.
