As a graduate student at the University of Maryland, I taught Russian 101 to undergraduate students for two semesters. I enjoy working with students and co-workers on all levels, whether they have little or no experience. I know when to recognize different styles in learning and methods I can use to accomodate each different style. I am also very patient and willing to put extra effort in with students that might have trouble learning the material presented. I believe the best way to learn is peer-to-peer learning. As an auto-didact I have the study skills necessary to regurgitate information as taught by the current institutional models. This is an uncreative and highly unnatural way to learn. There's a reason no major discovery was made in a classroom -- true innovation, discovery and learning is an organic process. Linda Albert's model of "Cooperative Discipline" first began to intrigue me when I was introduced to her model in on of my Education courses.
