Experience Summary
I am an author of many books. I have published a book for the trade market (in bookstores) as well as many books for the education market. Among the books I have written is a book for teachers about teaching writing to the high school student. I have more than 30 years experience in helping students be better writers. Additionally I have been a bylined columnist for a local paper and have been published in many newspapers across the country. I know how to help students be successful.
Teaching Style
I am committed to helping students achieve mastery of the writing process. Using direct instruction and excellent examples, I take students step-by-step towards building better sentences, paragraphs, and essays. I use rubrics and standards to provide the students with a framework and structure. Through practice, practice, practice, soon they are developing polished writing that meets high expectations of SAT tests and teachers.
