A Little Bit About Me...

I am a very communicative person and I like to encourage students to talk too...even if you are shy.It doesn't matter if you have no idea of how and what to say, practicing is the best tool and Im here to help you. Since I know phonology and phonetics, I can help with the pronunciation. Basically, there are some techniques you can use to make your speaking sounds more natural. But I do it with examples you will never forget, so, it's a funny way to learn and it's not boring. Same thing about grammar. Of course people are afraid of it and honestly, Portuguese grammar is not easy, but I try to make it less "painful" by teaching the key points...and again, more and more practical examples.

My comments on tutoring Portuguese : I was born in Brazil and lived and taught there until 2006. Portuguese is my original language.

I have taught elementary and middle school in Brazil for over 11 years and pre-K for the past 11 years. In Brazil, Portuguese was a required course to teach like English is a required subject here in the United States. I love teaching and believe this is what I was meant to do. In Brazil, I also volunteered to teach adults in the evenings to read and write.
