I was born in Brazil and lived and taught there until 2006. Portuguese is my original language. I have taught elementary and middle school in Brazil for over 11 years and pre-K for the past 11 years. In Brazil, Portuguese was a required course to teach like English is a required subject here in the United States. I love teaching and believe this is what I was meant to do. In Brazil, I also volunteered to teach adults in the evenings to read and write.
