I started in school system in 1999..I became a mentor working with at risk students I wanted to help students who lacked confidence, had low academic test scores, and lower level learners.I worked in Special Ed. for 5 yrs as teachers aide grades 6th, 7th, and 8th.I worked in the after school program teaching 4th and 5th grade combo. I have a Bachelors Degree, and have four classes toward a Masters. I began substitute teaching, learning handicapped, pre-k,k-3,and infant developement. I always praised my students for making an effort. When they felt good about themselves it showed in the quality of their work. I always let them know that if they applied themselves they could achieve anything.

Beyond the subject matter and what I will be teaching, I have to spend some time getting to know the child. If I do not take the time to make them feel important and show that they have value, then the teaching part is meaningless. A relationship has to be established not only between a teacher and a student but, between two human beings. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Chemisty with a minor in statistics. As an undergraduate, I tutored middle-schoolers in science and math as a volunteer at a local school. I was recently a substitute teacher, teaching all ages and in areas such as the biological sciences, algebra, calculus and psychology. I currently tutor a college student in mathemtics.
