My desire to teach stems from my hopeful view of youth. During the past seven years I have been successful in promoting access to higher education to youth of diverse backgrounds by organizing educational workshops and/or working directly on school campuses. I have earned a B.A. in Communications with an emphasis in advertising and a minor in Chicano Studies, which has enabled me to gain skills in public speaking, creative writing and art. I started in school system in 1999..I became a mentor working with at risk students I wanted to help students who lacked confidence, had low academic test scores, and lower level learners.I worked in Special Ed. for 5 yrs as teachers aide grades 6th, 7th, and 8th.I worked in the after school program teaching 4th and 5th grade combo. I have a Bachelors Degree, and have four classes toward a Masters. I began substitute teaching, learning handicapped, pre-k,k-3,and infant developement. A Little Bit About Me...

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Chemisty with a minor in statistics. As an undergraduate, I tutored middle-schoolers in science and math as a volunteer at a local school. I was recently a substitute teacher, teaching all ages and in areas such as the biological sciences, algebra, calculus and psychology. I currently tutor a college student in mathemtics.
I first discovered my love for teaching in high school. I excelled in many areas and helped my fellow students learn. As I furthered my education, my passion for teaching grew and my style changed.
