I have just received my BA in E-Business management with a minor in Criminal Justice. I am beginning my Masters in Criminal Justice in March and will continue to a Dr. in the same field when possible. I do not have professional experience teaching however I have experience tutoring my niece who I have been responsible for since she was 5. She is now 12 and a straight A student. I tutored throughout school and was a teachers aid in Elementary school. I have 2 young boys of my own who will beginning school next year. I have tutored in writing, K-5 math, science and history. During my four years of undergraduate studies, I have spent three years tutoring in the subject area of English. While maintaining a full course load and working full time, I have managed to tutor over 107 students during this period. The majority of the material covered included essay writing at a college level, (scholarship essays, admissions essays, formation of a thesis paper, etc.). My teaching style is to help students find the answers on their own. By asking a series of questions you can help students to find their own answers and express them in their own way. By doing this you not only teach them a subject, but you teach them the more important skill of knowing how to learn. My teaching style reflects the attitude that students must be comfortable in their surroundings first in order to be able to focus their energies for the day's work.
