I am very aware that everyone learns at different levels and in different ways. I am observant and mindful of this in teaching. I have worked with children with special needs for many years. Also, teaching ESL has helped me become a strong teacher because it has made me excellent with non verbal communication. It is important to have a stimulating environment for students. I want my students to want to come to my classroom and become involved in the lessons. I believe in balance. I think it is important to have fun but also be productive. Teaching is one of the most important professions in the world and to be able to make a difference in a child's life is such a satisfying career.

I have 17 years in the classroom and 5 years of education to attain this. I still make myself available to help any student who needs it even though I have left the classroom. I have also substituted for 3 years at all grade levels. I have had to write many papers during my educational experience. My students had to write essays as part of their testing and do extensive research to write papers to enhance their experience in the classroom.
All students learn at different levels. I like to incorporate all the learning styles of students. Some learn by hands-on, others by listening, and some by writing. These are all used by me. Each student has their own learning style and a teacher has to help each find what works for each student and then incorporate this to meet the needs for that particular student. I believe that teaching and learning should be both an enjoyable and painful experience at times. I realize that we all have days in which learning is not quite what we want to do, but it is what we have to do. I also realize that interactive and challenging assignments can win any student over. I am the type of teacher that likes for my students to thoroughly enjoy learning, because I enjoy teaching.
I have been teaching for the past 7 years of my life, and truly enjoy helping students learn. I taught for four years in Florida's Broward County School System, and I have just completed my second year in Houston County's School System.
