My teaching style is laid back and comfortable. I like to use flash cards, fun games, and rhyming teachniques. I think children have to like their teacher to do well. Many of my former students have kept in contact with me over the years.. being invited to their graduations, weddings and other parties. I made a very good impression on them...as most often teachers can be forgotten as the years go by. I try to make learning fun and I like to incorporate color and coloring to work sheets and assignments. I am very creative.

A Little Bit About Me...

I encourage all of my students to abandon what they think they should know for what they already know, and to take it from there. I am a very patient instructor for adult beginners. I expect progress from all of my students and I set firm guidelines and expections at every lesson. Music students will also receive a solid foundation in music theory.
Education is a very powerful tool. I enjoy seeing students progress from square one to fully capable musicians. I have been teaching privately for the past two years giving private instruction in piano, french horn, and harp. I will be completing my bachelors in music performance from Ohio State this spring. I also give tutoring in music theory for interested students.

As a veteran educator with over 25 years of experience, my career began oversees in Guam teaching middle school English Language Arts and Reading. Since then, I have held a variety of teaching and administrative positions at the middle school and high school levels, including both English Language Arts and self-contained Special Education.
