A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching on and off through my college years. I was a sub teacher at Ernest C. Drury School for the Deaf for couple of years. I started my studies at Gallaudet University, my side job was a sub teacher at Model Secondary School for the Deaf and Kendall Demonistration Education School for couple of years. During my graduate studies, I was an educational assistant for English Language Institute at Gallaudet and part time rock climbing staff at Physical Education & Recreation department. When I am studying my 2nd masters, I was a Residental Educator of American Sign Language House for 1 year and taught ASL 1 for one semester. Since I moved to California I taught ASL 1 and/or 2 at Stanford University, Ohlone College, and San Mateo Community College. Also, been doing tutoring as a side job. I've been involved with the deaf community for several years. I love teaching. I taught sign language at an elementary school for a couple of years. I have tutored children and adults. Sign Language is one of my top subjects! I am a native ASL user since I was born. I have taught ASL at several colleges and universities in East and West coast. I am teaching at school for the Deaf at the moment.

I started my teaching experience when I got a job as a subsitute teacher at school for the Deaf in Ontario, Canada. I loved it so much and I went to university to get my degree in Criminology and Sociology and got masters in Deaf Education and Recreation. I used to be a subsitute teacher at Model Secondary School for the Deaf in Washington, D.C. and got a job as a teacher at Maryland School for the Deaf. I moved here 7 years ago and work here at California School for the Deaf as a teacher. ASL Teaching experience: I taught ASL at McDaniel College for a semester. I started to teach ASL at Ohlone College (high school course) for 3 years and Stanford University for a year, and College of San Mateo. ASL I and II. Also, I have been doing a lot of tutor sessions for individuals who are taking ASL III or higher and Interpreter Preparation Program.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have experience working with k-12. Along with employed tutoring, volunteering, and mentoring. I am qualified to tutor in English, math, and social studies because throughout my studies I have excelled in all three subjects and have tutored them also. I enjoy tutoring math because I get to constantly push the limits of how I can explain concepts. In English, I read lots off long books.
