As a graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University in General Science Physics, I have completed extensive coursework in the areas of math, science, and engineering. I knew I always wanted to work with children and I have loved all of my teaching experiences. I pushed myself to get a dual certification in Elementary and Special Education from Duquesne University. Out of college I had a few long-term sub positions in area school districts before getting a full time teaching position at Charters Valley School District. At Charters Valley I taught eighth grade learning support for 4 years before transferring to be third grade classroom teacher for 2 years. I substitute taught around the South Hills of Pittsburgh for a year, then moved to Virginia, where I taught fifth grade for four years. The first three years were in a public school and the fourth in a private school. I taught all subject areas and skill level abilities.
I would describe my teaching style as hands on and according to multiple learning styles. I understand that students learn best when they have the option of working with material objects. I also realize that students all learn in different ways and therefore I try to teach to each student's learning style. I have helped tutor friends’ kids on math from little school to high school. I have taken math all the way up to Differential equations and feel alright tutoring up to calculus one. I do not possess documented experience from schools or other organizations. I am a very highly motivated individual that does not mind helping others. I also have experience in teaching or helping coach little league sports educating kids on how to play games correctly. I have also been an assistant coach and helped out at Clinton Community College with girl’s softball under the head coach.

Some children learn faster than others and there are some children who are visual learners and others who are audio learners.
