A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Lawrence Technological University with a bachelor's degree in Business / Computer Information Systems. I completed numerous courses in Mathematics, Science, Statistics, English Composition, and computers. I have 20 years experience working in the Computer and Health field for Chrysler Corporation and St. John Health. Also, I returned to college to pursue an associate degree in Nursing and Radiology. I am a former Student Teacher at the college and have been involved with computer tutoring for over 10 years.
I enjoy working with children. I have volunteered my time as a football, baseball and basketball coach for several years. My passion is in watching others to succeed, and I am willing to change my own methods to make that happen. Thus, my tutoring style depends almost entirely on the student as I have found that the most common reason a tutor is needed is that the student's learning style does not match with the teacher's teaching style. I can tutor through examples, visually drawing concepts, talking, describing the reasons behind a concept, and most importantly, I can relate almost every subject to daily life.
I began officially tutoring four years ago, starting up a private tutoring business. Through it, I have taught ages 5 through 55 in nearly all subjects, including mathematics, science, physics, ACT, and English. I also have tutored publicly at Oakland University for one year, where I earned my tutoring certification (level 1).

As a graduate of Tennessee State University, I've been very driven to consistently purse excellence education. I ranked in the top 10% of my class upon graduation and during my tenure I worked within the schools substitute teaching programs. Mentoring/tutoring students in area high schools and middle schools, while also working with students in the Upward Bound Program. After graduation I became involved in my churches no child left behind program as tutor and I currently still tutor.
