I graduated from Lawrence Technological University with a bachelor's degree in Business / Computer Information Systems. I completed numerous courses in Mathematics, Science, Statistics, English Composition, and computers. I have 20 years experience working in the Computer and Health field for Chrysler Corporation and St. John Health. Also, I returned to college to pursue an associate degree in Nursing and Radiology. My passion is working with students and seeing that my teaching styles are getting the students motivated and excited about their progress. As stated above I use different teaching styles with each student and their need. I always begin by giving each student a short test that I use to evaluate exactly what their strong and weak points are in order to create a tutoring program especially for them.
As a graduate student from Central Michigan University I have learned several different methods to use when tutor students. A Little Bit About Me...

I have recently graduated from Lawrence Technological University with a BA in graphic design, although all of my work experience has been with children. I started this experience in high school, as a teacher aide to a third grade class, creating lesson plans and working one-on-one. I have tutored in a professional tutoring center and privately for over 7 years working with children of all ages. The subjects I tutor include pre-calculus, advanced algebra, geometry, chemistry, biology, reading and English which I taught to kindergarten through college-level students. A Little Bit About Me...

I began officially tutoring four years ago, starting up a private tutoring business. Through it, I have taught ages 5 through 55 in nearly all subjects, including mathematics, science, physics, ACT, and English. I also have tutored publicly at Oakland University for one year, where I earned my tutoring certification (level 1).
My passion is in watching others to succeed, and I am willing to change my own methods to make that happen. Thus, my tutoring style depends almost entirely on the student as I have found that the most common reason a tutor is needed is that the student's learning style does not match with the teacher's teaching style. I can tutor through examples, visually drawing concepts, talking, describing the reasons behind a concept, and most importantly, I can relate almost every subject to daily life.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is interactive. I like to give students a chance to apply what they have learned in groups or aloud amid classroom peers. Each student is different and might require more assistance than others, so in practice, the more the student works at a problem the better he/she becomes. In some cases remediation could be in order and if so, take home practice work could be in order.
I have been a guest teacher in several school districts over the years off andd on. Since I worked in Telecommunications most of my life, I worked occasionally for agencies that assign guest teachers to different schools daily. In my current degree program, I write extensively on various topics such as human development and leadership. I have tutored before in basic math and basic algebra as well as english.
